Principal’s Message

Dec. 8th  Our students and their families have been invited to an event planned by Mrs. Gubler and her Young Women's Group.  Look for the real invitation soon.  It will be in their take home folder.

Dec. 14th  PLC Day.  School will be dismissed at 1:15 for teachers to attend training.

Dec. 15th  School Christmas Program at 6:30 at the LDS church in Springdale.  Have your children wear their nicest clothes.

Dec. 18th  Our own Mini Community

The 1st and 2nd graders have been learning about communities and financial literacy.  As a culminating activity, we are planning four stores for them to run, advertise, and sell items.  They will also be able to spend money they have been earning for the last two months.  This will provide students an opportunity to buy items that can be used as Christmas presents for friends and family members.  We have also invited the Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to participate.  This means we need to collect whatever you can donate for the following stores.

We are planning on a BAKERY (any item made or store bought), TOY STORE (games, balls, cars, etc for all ages) GENERAL STORE (hats, scarfs, gloves, jewelry, watches, kitchen items, decor, figurines, books; anything BUT NOT CLOTHING), and a CHRISTMAS STORE (anything to do with Christmas: decorations, candy, ornaments, etc) .

In order to make this happen, we NEED YOUR HELP!  Please determine what “things” your student can bring from home that you no longer want or they do not play with any more.  Students will be buying on items for younger children to grandparents.  This is an excellent way to clean out closets to get ready for The Holidays. If everyone in the school brought a baked good, there would be enough for everyone to purchase something from this store.

You can begin to send these items to school.  We want the students to get excited.  Thanks for all that you do to support our class activities.

Dec. 21-Jan. 5th  Holiday Recess

 Jan. 5th  School Begins

If you have any questions, call me.

Chris
