Principal’s Message

Chris Snodgress - Principal

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone had a great four-day weekend. The weather was great but many of our students have been sick. We hope they will be back soon. Please be aware of the following events that are going on in our school this month.

Last week I sent home information about our School Science Fair for students in the First through Fifth Grade. Please start NOW! If you need a poster board, go to the office and pick one up at no charge thanks to our PTO. Judging will take place on Friday morning, April 27^th. This is a class requirement for all 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th graders.

On April 17^th the whole state of Utah will be practicing earthquake drills. Please discuss as a family what your children should do both inside and outside your home in case of an earthquake.

Kite Festival Calendars are due April 21^st. Please make sure that your children are reading each night and that you are sending a signed reading log back to school. Keep reading! Each night that your child reads their name will go into a drawing the last day of school for fantastic prizes.

The PTO will be having a yard sale the weekend of April 20-21st. The trailer will be at the school the week prior to the sale and will be accepting donations from 9-11am, Monday-Friday. Please spread the word and volunteer some of your time if you can. Help is needed collecting during the week, setting up on Friday, running the sale both days, and packing up. Items for the silent auction are also being collected. The money raised at these events goes directly toward the education of your children.

Monday, April 23^rd is our last short school day. Students will be dismissed at 2:00 in order for teachers to attend professional development.

Wednesday, April 25^th we will be taking the shuttle to the Park to plant trees with the city for Arbor Day. We plan on leaving at 11:45, eating a sack lunch at the park, and then returning by 12:30.

Friday, April 27^th is going to be a very busy day. Don’t miss coming to our school.
- In the morning Science Fair Projects will be judged. You will be able to view the projects after 11:00.
- In the afternoon we will be announcing the winners who will participate in the District Science Fair. We will also be acknowledging the accomplishments of all of our students throughout the year.
- After eating a picnic lunch on the lawn beginning at 11:30, we will also be having our Annual School Talent Show. Please let Mrs. Madsen know what talent your child will be performing. This must be done before your child will be put on the program.

Estimados padres de familia,

Espero que todos hayan tenido un gran fin de semana de cuatro días. El tiempo era genial, pero muchos de nuestros estudiantes se han enfermado. Esperamos que estará de regreso pronto. Tenga en cuenta de los siguientes eventos que están ocurriendo en nuestra escuela este mes.

La semana pasada me enviaron a casa información sobre nuestra Feria de Ciencias escolar para los estudiantes de primero a quinto grado. Por favor, empieza AHORA! Si usted necesita una cartulina, vaya a la oficina y recoger una en no gracias a nuestro cargo la toma de fuerza. La selección se llevará a cabo el viernes por la mañana, de27abril.Este es un requisito de clase para todos los 3º,4ºy 5º grado.

● El de abril17 en todo el estado de Utah a practicar simulacros de terremoto. Por favor, hable como una familia lo que sus hijos deben hacer dentro y fuera de su casa en caso de un terremoto.

● Kite Festival calendarios se deben de21abril.Por favor, asegúrese de que sus hijos están leyendo cada noche y que va a enviar un registro de lectura firmado a la escuela. ¡Sigue leyendo! Cada noche que su hijo lee su nombre entrará en un sorteo el último día de clases para los fantásticos premios.

● La toma de fuerza va a tener una venta de garaje el fin de semana del 20 de abril-21. El trailer será en la escuela la semana anterior a la venta y estará aceptando donaciones de 9 a 11h, de lunes a viernes. Por favor, difundir la palabra y ofrecer voluntariamente algo de su tiempo si es posible. Se necesita ayuda recogida durante la semana, estableciendo el viernes, corriendo a la venta dos días, y las maletas. Artículos para la subasta silenciosa también se están recogiendo. El dinero recaudado en estos eventos se dirige directamente hacia la educación de sus hijos.

● Lunes, 23 de abrilSeñor es nuestro último día de la escuela de corto. Los estudiantes saldrán a las 2:00 con el fin de que los maestros asisten a desarrollo profesional.

● Miércoles, 25 de abrilª vamos a tomar el transfer hasta el Parque para plantar árboles con la ciudad por el Día del Árbol. Planeamos salir a las 11:45, comer un almuerzo en el parque, y luego regresar antes de las 12:30.

● Viernes, 27 de abrilª va a ser un día muy ocupado. No te pierdas venir a nuestra escuela.
○ En la ciencia del mañana Proyectos de la Feria serán juzgados. Usted será capaz de ver los proyectos después de las 11:00.
○ Por la tarde estaremos anunciando a los ganadores que participarán en la Feria de Ciencias del Distrito. También vamos a reconocer los logros de todos los estudiantes durante todo el año.
○ Después de comer un almuerzo picnic en el césped de inicio a las 11:30, también vamos a tener nuestra feria anual de talentos del colegio. Por favor, señora Madsen saber lo que el talento de su hijo va a realizar. Esto debe hacerse antes de que su niño será puesto en el programa.
